Lens tones

If you look at your eyes, you’ll notice they aren’t one solid block of color. There’s actually many different colors, freckles and specks that make up the unique color of your eyes and these are what lens tones aim to mimic, in order to appear more natural.

You’ll notice we have both one-tone and three-tone style lenses. The one-tone kind are usually very opaque and limited to one color, whereas the three-tone styles are more dainty and delicate.

For darker eyes therefore, it’s better to choose one-tone lenses if you’re going for a much light shade (e.g. light blue) as they’ll be more opaque and your natural eye color is less likely to be apparent underneath.

Having said that, if you’re look for a sutble lighter lens, using three-tone lenses can actually help to blend the contacts with your own eye color.

What are the best colors for dark eyes?

Blue Color Contacts

Jumping from dark brown eyes to wearing blue lenses is one of the biggest you can take. For a natural look, it’s better to choose sapphire tones than powdery light blues.

Green Color Contacts

If you want a dramatic change in your look that is still natural, then green color contacts are your friend - as long as you go for the right shade!
